So big they can never be fully photographed by mortals. Rumor has it that ever press release photo was merely a painting.

Look, man. It may be the case that you can hold at least 40 dead hookers in the back of your car, but this is not healthy. It’s bad enough that you do this at all, and I’m not even going to get into the whole forming a club around it. Like...it’s murder. Gathering together with others to talk about the very illegal stuff you’re up to is how you guys are going to get caught.

Listen. Sell the murderwagon, stop talking to those other murderwagon enthusiasts, move out of state and start a new life somewhere. You have to. The only other alternative is going deeper down the rabbit hole and ending up in a jail cell.

Lighten up, man. I’ve got hardly any dead bodies in there right now.

Well, the lack of dead bodies would certainly help with lightness.

I’ve been trying to sell mine before the plates go up for renewal at the end of November. Zero interest except from one guy who wanted to trade me a ‘91 S-10. I was interested in that until he showed me pictures of the other side that was smashed all to crap. Guess I’ll just have to keep the beast a while longer :) ... awe shucks.

Yup, too late. You gotta hang onto it for another year now.

Besides, you wouldn’t want to miss out on those sweet wagon snow donuts.

True, we didn’t get much snow last year, and I really didn’t get to enjoy that much.

Do you have a Roadmaster?

If not, do you have $1500? Because then you could have a Roadie and then you could be my friend.

Actually, you can be my friend as long as you say appreciative things about my Roadmaster.

I used to own a B-body; it was my first car. I miss it dearly. That LT1 with the optispark was horrible, but I loved that car so much.

It died in late 2013 when some idiot in a brand new Challenger couldnt handle driving and hit it head-on with my sister behind the wheel. It gave it’s life to protect her, for which I am grateful, but I always wonder if I could have saved the car from that fate.

I wanted one of these, but settled for what I had. Just wasn’t easy enough finding a wagon with wood sides at the time. Always a soft spot, of course. If I had the space, I’d probably get one just for that incredible highway driving experience. Mine was like a living room on wheels.

Okay, you can be my friend. Your car met a noble end.

I love the LT1, personally, but then I haven’t had any issues with the Optispark. The LT1 has way more displacement and low-end torque than anything else I’ve owned.

And yes, the interior, while it does have that questionable ‘90's GM fit and finish, still wins because of leather bench seats.

The problem with the engine for me came in multiple areas. I still consider it the heaviest-maintenance car I’ve ever owned due to the engine (and the interior was, as you mentioned, mid-90s GM, so it didn’t hold up great even though the seats were amazing). The plugs are hard to change (below the manifold on both sides) with the shop manual saying you need to remove the entire AC system on the right side and both headers to replace them. The plug wires are a similar problem due to where they are routed; they can fail due to heat, and can’t be readily changed for the same reason the plugs can’t be.

The big problem is the water pump. When the inside bearing fails, hot water drops out of a hole on the bottom when running right above the optispark, which eventually destroys the rubber seal on the optispark, then the optispark starts filling up with water. Once that water gets deep enough, it’ll slosh and cause misfires... I had to replace a number of both of these over the years, always in pairs.

Mine also had a major wiring distribution point/harness meltdown, the AC compressor went, and it chewed through alternators at an alarming rate (the good thing was that these were a piece of cake to replace in any random auto part store parking lot).

I have yet to surpass the torque, I must admit. It was such a pleasurable engine in that respect. Such smooth and effortless delivery of power... So quiet at highways speeds...

I wish I could have another. At least I know the quirks I’d be getting into.

I’ve had mine for a year now, and while I’ve had to do some random stuff on it, it’s not been too bad, especially for a 22-year-old car. Compared to the other cars I’ve had wrenching experience with, it’s so roomy, so I kinda like that.

Your comment about the alternator may explain why it’s the newest looking part in the engine bay...
